2026-05-17 Morning Prayer

Lord Jesus, the risen Christ, today we celebrate your ascension into heaven where you sit at the right hand of God, victorious over sin, death, fear and the grave, and reigning eternally in majesty, authority, and glory.

As we meditate on the significance, help us to “keep our eyes on things above” rather than temporary things of this world. Shine Your light into the darkness, shine on us and through us to others. Be the lamp unto our feet.

* Remind us that our true citizenship is in heaven and that eternal life awaits all who believe and trust in You.

* You are our great high priest in the heavens, Jesus the Son of God. You continually intercede for us and watch over every detail of our lives, remaining sovereign over every situation.

*Through You, we have access to the Father’s presence, love and forgiveness. We are co-heirs with You, children of God.

*You have given us the Holy Spirit who guides us, and spiritual gifts which manifest as we draw closer to you, praise you, and pray to you. The Holy Spirit does things that we cannot do for ourselves and the world cannot provide.

Help us to believe even when we do not understand. Increase our faith so we may walk boldly in obedience and hope, spreading the Gospel to others. Remove every fear that steals our peace, and every lie that causes confusion, chaos and doubt. Fill us with confidence in Your promises.

May we rest in You, surrendering our lives completely to You, trusting that You will lead us and equip us, always working for our good according to Your perfect will.
