Come let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our
salvation. Let us come to Him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of
praise to Him for the Lord is a great God, a great king above all gods!
He holds in His hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest
mountains. The sea belongs to Him for He made it. His hands formed
the dry land, too. Come let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel
before the Lord, our Maker for He is our God. We are the people He
watches over, the flock under His care. Thanks be to God.
Father, this morning we take time to remember the women in our lives
who’ve made a difference. Those who’ve influenced us, those who’ve
read scripture to us, those who’ve prayed for us, those who’ve insisted
that manners matter, those who’ve taught us right from wrong, those
who’ve sung to us, comforted us, grieved with us and rejoiced with us.
Women, who like Jesus, longed to gather her children as a hen gathers
her chicks under her wings, but we did not always want that. For the
wisdom we’ve gleaned and the wisdom we’ve denied, we thank You for
the women who loved us through it all. Let us take time now to honor
them and name them before our Lord...
Amen
Father, we seek Your forgiveness for the trespasses of this past week,
and we thank you for your mercy and long suffering. For it is written,
“I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings and their sins I will no
longer remember.” What a gracious God You are.
Abba, You encourage us to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to
please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and
increasing in the knowledge of You. We give thanks to You for You
have qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. You
delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the
kingdom of Your beloved son in whom we have redemption and the
forgiveness of sins. Embolden us to go out in the world and share this
incredible truth, this good news. Let us not be selfish with this
knowledge, but exuberant and joyful and encouraged to share it with
those You put in our paths.
As we hear about the obedient women of the bible this morning may
we be inspired to move in faith beyond our comfort zones and speak of
Your goodness and perfect love. Come Holy Spirit, Come!
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you
stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only
God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty,
dominion and authority before all time and now and forever more.
Amen
