Behold, the Lamb of God! John 1 and Revelation 5

Updated: Apr 21

Can I get a witness? It was a wonderful time at Annual Awakening at Coker Methodist Church in San Antonio. Twenty people were ordained, a new partnership with the Global Methodist Church in Rwanda began, we heard a wonderful report from our brothers from Bulgaria, our Lay Leader was called to share his testimony of God’s faithfulness in his life and at Austin GMC, and Pastor Lauren did two prayer workshops. We were left with the challenge to go and be witnesses to the uttermost parts of the globe. If we are to be a global church, we must be about the mission to revive generations and nations with the Living Word.

This Sunday, we finished our sermon series “Follow the Lamb” with a celebration of the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. He is the only one worthy of our praise. Until we are all worshipping around the throne in heaven, may we be a people who worship, love, and witness like we believe in the Lamb.

This week we also meditated on question number 8 of the Global Methodist Church Catechism: “Is the Son God?” Our answer at Austin Global Methodist Church is: “Yes. The Son is eternally begotten of the Father, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. If you’d like to learn more about Jesus the Son of God, study Luke 10:22, John 1:1, 14, 18, 8:12, 10:30, Philippians 2:6, Colossians 1:15, 19, 2:9, Hebrews 1:1-5 in your personal devotions. At AGMC, we believe Jesus is God.

Next week, we will have a special guest from Partners in Hope, Rev. BJ Rogers. He will be sharing about how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Our March monthly mission will be Partners in Hope with the goal to not just financially support Partners in Hope but to add volunteers to this organization so that the lost, lonely, and downtrodden will find hope through Christian friendship. See you all next week!

Blessings,

Rev. Lauren Green Yates, MDiv.
