Today I was blessed to preach one of my favorite sermons. I’ve preached it at every church I’ve ever served. It’s a sermon called “The Chair- Salvation by Faith”. Using my great-grandfather’s priceless, beautiful, strong and antique Arts and Craft rocking chair, I like to demonstrate a practical way to teach about salvation by faith from Ephesians 2:8-9.
Salvation is like a wonderful chair. You didn’t make it or purchase it (grace). You need it to hold you (salvation). You have to trust that it can hold you (faith). While this analogy isn’t perfect, it can be a practical way to explain salvation to someone who is curious about Jesus. I hope that you can share it with someone this week.
Next week is Mother’s Day. We will be celebrating the “sticky” faith of all the godly women in our lives. Every woman present will get a gift. Everyone is encouraged to bring a package of diapers (size 4, 5, or 6) to benefit the Agape Pregnancy Center in Round Rock. As a church, this is a wonderful way to give back to the community on this special day of the year. Invite all the women in your life to celebrate with us!
Blessings,
