The Better Man- Out of the Water

Last week was a busy week with the MidTexas Annual Awakening. We hosted Pastor Krasimir from Burgas Methodist Church, our sister church in Bulgaria. Then we celebrated Ash Wednesday. I was so busy I forgot to write a blog for the wonderful name of Yeshua (YAHWEH is Salvation)!

We finished up the sermon series, “His Name is Wonderful” with the name that one day every knee will bow to and every tongue will confess is Lord. The name of Jesus is powerful. It brings healing, hope, and eternal life. I truly prayer that each of you have called upon the name of Jesus for your salvation.

This week, we started our Lenten sermon series “The Better Man”. We are comparing and contrasting the life and leadership of Moses and Jesus. May this season be a blessing as we prepare our hearts for the passion of the Christ and his resurrection.

This Lenten season we will be praying the Prayer of Saint Ephrem as a congregation. I encourage you to examine yourselves daily, give up something that draws attention to your need for God, and join in with millions of other Christians who pray this prayer daily during Lent:

O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant. Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of ages. Amen.
