08-02-2026 Morning Prayer

Father God, we come this morning with so many things to celebrate—

 Blessing the backpacks for those returning or entering school for the first time

 Blessing those having birthdays this month, recognizing their importance in the

life of this church and the lives of others.

 Holy Communion—that we are saved by and covered by the blood of Jesus

 News that the lease on our new temporary home has been finalized

And we also come with prayers for ourselves, friends and family, our church, the world for forgiveness, strength, wisdom, peace, comfort, during trials in our lives:

 Illness or debilitative conditions

 Death of loved ones

 Decisions to be made

 Our relationship with God

 Our trust in Jesus

 Fear, anxiety, confusion, depression, hopelessness

Lord, I especially pray for the children that they know and stand on the truth, as “the world” can be very hurtful and difficult, challenging their faith. May they know Who they are and Whose they are in Christ! May they Know that:

 They are Accepted—Loved by You and nothing they do can separate them from Your love

 They are Secure—You are with them always and they can bring everything to Jesus and put it at His feet

 They are Significant—You have great plans for them, plans to prosper and not to harm them, and You are working in everything for good even though they cannot see it or feel it.

Of course, these also apply to each one of us. May we find joy in the adventure, giving you thanks and praises in all things.

Lord, we renounce every lie that we have been believing and break every chain that is holding us captive. May we commit today to return to our first love, making Jesus first in our lives, and spreading His grace and truth to others.

In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
