May was an especially busy month with the celebration of Mother’s Day, a baby blessing, our 1st certified Lay Minister (Susan Monroe), and Pentecost. As we transition from Spring to Summer and Holy Times to Ordinary Times, we endeavor into a new sermon series based off of JD Walt’s devotional on the Book of Ephesians, “Unpuzzled.”
There are countless people in the world missing pieces in the big picture of God’s Story. As Christians and as the Church, we need to make sure we are sharing the big picture of God’s Story well. The Book of Ephesians is a wonderful letter to all of God’s people to help ensure that we can see the big picture and share it well.
For the next two months, we will be going on a methodical journey through the Book of Ephesians, solving the puzzle of God’s story one piece at a time. Here is the schedule so you can read along, with or without the daily devotional from JD Walt.
June 7- The Big Picture (Ephesians 1:1-18); Communion Sunday
June 14- The Law Piece (Ephesians 1:19-2:22); Joining Day
June 21- The Faith Piece (Ephesians 3:1-4:6); Father’s Day
June 28- The New Creation Piece (Ephesians 4:7-29)
July 5- The New Mouthpiece (Ephesians 4:40- 5:20); Communion
July 12- The New Relationship Piece (Ephesians 5:21-6:9)
July 19- Unpuzzled- The Final Pieces (Ephesians 6:10-24)
I invite you all to start reading the “Unpuzzled” devotion starting June 1st (see link below to purchase). May God open up our hearts and eyes to receive the Word and share it with others.
