Am I a Giver?

Am I a Giver? This is the question we contemplated this week as we journeyed with Jesus in John 6 in the familiar story of the loaves and fishes. A little lunch was given that day and a big miracle came out of it. Thousands were fed. Would we be willing to give what we have to see others satisfied with Jesus? After all, Jesus is the Bread of Life. We should not keep this wonderful knowledge to ourselves.
This week we meditated on question number 12 of the Global Methodist Church Catechism: “Who is Jesus Christ?” That is a question the whole world is asking. Our answer at Austin Global Methodist Church is: “The Son of God and our Lord Jesus Christ are one person in whom the divine and human natures are perfectly and inseparably united.” If you’d like to learn more about the nature of Jesus, study Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:20-23, John 1:14, 14:9-11, Romans 1:3-4, Colossians 1:15-20, I Timothy 3:16, and Hebrews 1:1-3 in your personal devotions.
This week, I encourage you to write “Am I a giver” somewhere you can see it (bathroom mirror, car mirror, sticky note, etc.). Let others see you living generously, sharing the Bread of Life with others. Don’t forget to pray for the Kairos ministers as they head out to share Jesus with prisoners this weekend.
Blessings,
