Am I a Witness?

Updated: 12 hours ago

Lent is a time to prepare our hearts for the journey to the cross and the empty grave. Lent is also a time to turn the mirror of faith on ourselves and ask, “Am I a disciple? Am I a witness?” I pray that you have been inspired to follow Jesus more closely and to share your testimony with others so they may know the Living Word.

This week we meditated on question number 11 of the Global Methodist Church Catechism: “How did the Son become human?” Our answer at Austin Global Methodist Church is: “He came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. If you’d like to learn more about the humanity of Jesus, study Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:30-35, John 1:1-2, 14, Romans 1:3-4, Galatians 4:4, Philippians 2:6-8, and I John 1:1-3, 4:2 in your personal devotions.

This week, I encourage you to write “Am I a witness” somewhere you can see it (bathroom mirror, car mirror, sticky note, etc.). Be bold and share your Jesus story with someone this week. Take the Gospel into a world that is thirsting for Jesus. Give them the Living Water.

Blessings,

Rev. Lauren Green Yates, MDiv.
