Am I a Worshiper?

Updated: 13 hours ago

“Hosanna! Lord, save us! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD, we bless you.” These words from Psalm 118 were sung to Jesus over 2000 years ago and we shouted them again on this blessed Palm Sunday.

Our lives, not just on Palm Sunday, should be characterized by worship. Are we people who can worship Jesus in the waiting, in our doubts, and even in our seasons of disappointment? I pray that we can fix our eyes on the King and worship Jesus in every circumstance.

This week, our church considered question number 15 of the Global Methodist Church Catechism: “Is Jesus Christ Lord of Heaven and earth?” This is very fitting to ask, especially on Palm Sunday. Our answer at Austin Global Methodist Church is: “Yes. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his Kingdom will have no end.” If you would like to learn more about the Lordship of Jesus, study Luke 1:33, 24:51, John 5:22-29, Acts 1:9-11, 10:42, Romans 8:34, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Philippians 2:9-11, 2 Peter 1:11, and Revelation 11:15 in your personal devotions.

Holy Week is upon us and we have many wonderful things in store. Join us this Thursday at 7pm in the Chapel for Maundy Thursday, this Friday at 7pm in the Chapel for Good Friday, and this coming Sunday at 11am in the Chapel for Resurrection Sunday. Childcare will be provided so bring your whole family. Now go forth and worship the King!

Blessings,
