Austin Global Methodist Church continued their one-year anniversary celebration at Camino Real with over 95 people present, including previous guest pastors and our Presiding Elder, Rev. Adam Thornton. It was a blessed time of fellowship. No one can say we don’t have fun at our church!
We also worshipped with the students at Concordia University on Thursday night at their Refuge Worship Night. We provided the snacks and the students did the music and preaching. Campus Pastor Jake baptized four students. It was an amazing ministry moment to share with these students who are so in love with Jesus.
This past Sunday, we celebrated Reformation Sunday and remembered the bravery of Martin Luther. We were encouraged to live by faith, as it says in Romans 1:17. We also prayed that revival would start in our own hearts. We laid hands on Pastor Azar and those going to the Board of Ministry interviews and prayed for wisdom and discernment. We are a praying church!
Next Sunday, November 3rd, is All Saints Sunday. If you would like to remember a friend or loved one who has passed away this last year, please email Phyllis Cram at plcram3333c@gmail.com. The names of these loved ones will be read as the bells ring in their honor.
As you enter into a new week, be filled with the hope of Christ and be mindful of the mission set before us. We don’t want to just come to church. We want to be the church. Everywhere we go, let us bring the hope and peace of Jesus with us as we revive people with the Living Word in Austin and beyond.
Blessings,
Rev. Lauren Green Yates, MDiv.
