The Better Man- The Fulfillment of the Law

Today, we continued our sermon series, “The Better Man”. It’s a parallel journey between the life of Moses and the life of Jesus. Today, we talked about how Moses gave the Law of God to the people from Mt. Sinai but Jesus explained the Law perfectly on the Sermon on the Mount. The Law of God is still important for God’s people to study, know, and live inwardly and outwardly. With the help of the Holy Spirit we can.

We are almost halfway through the Lenten season. It’s important not to give up or lose heart. You may notice an uptick in spiritual warfare during this time. Do not despair or worry. The Lord is with us. More than ever, let us remember the Words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Let us continue to pray the Prayer of Saint Ephrem: O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant. Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of ages. Amen.
