Thy Kingdom Come: Week 8

Reading Plan: Matthew 26-27

This past Sunday, we celebrated the King of kings, with a bonus Palm Sunday. Palm branches were waved, accompanied by shouts of, “Hosanna! Lord, save us!” We praised the Lord together but we learned that we cannot just say the right things and do the right things, we must believe the right things about Jesus and share it. Jesus is King!

This next week, let’s read Matthew 26-27 together in preparation for the upcoming sermon, “Wounded for Our Transgression”. We will be focusing on what the King of the Jews did for us on the cross.

Next Sunday is also World Communion Sunday. We will be celebrating Holy Communion with millions of people across the globe. Our altar will be decorated with beautiful items from the many countries of people represented at Austin Global Methodist Church to include Sierra Leone, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. The King of the Jews died for the sins of the world and we will remember this next Sunday together.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you go into the city of Austin with the lifechanging message of the Living Word: Jesus is King!

Blessings,

Rev. Lauren Green Yates, MDiv.
