Reading Plan: Matthew 28:1-15
He is risen! He is risen, indeed! I don’t think we could ever say that enough. The empty cross and the empty grave give us our hope as believers. Because Jesus is risen, we have hope for today and hope for tomorrow. Thank you, Jesus!
This past Sunday was World Communion Sunday. We focused on the final Passover meal that Jesus celebrated with his disciples, a foreshadow of his death on the cross. In Christ’s death, the Passover finds its fulfillment. The Jewish people were rescued from slavery in Egypt and we are rescued from slavery to sin and death because of the cross. Because God so loved the world, Christ died for the world. His death was for all of us.
This next week, let’s read Matthew 28:1-15 together in preparation for the upcoming sermon, “He Is Risen!” We are blessed to be able to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus twice this year and everyday as believers. Let us boldly share this message from the Living World: Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ is coming again!
Also, on October 13th at 10:30am, our Christmas Choir will begin practicing for the upcoming advent service. If you would like to join the Christmas Choir, please email me so I can print out your copy of “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” by Charles Wesley. Exciting times are ahead for our happy, spirit-filled church! See you all next week.
Blessings,
